Burning the midnight oil!!

As a teacher, tutor, mentor, mother, and wife my job never ends. It is one of those things that you just have to love it or else you just wouldn't do it. I have a few pics I want to share that could be used to help those beginning readers. When children can recognize their letters, which is a symbol, then it's time to translate those letters (symbols) into sounds. The strategy being used with the alphabet and pictures can also be used with ESL students.

Tutoring Session Gone Right!

My tutoring sessions went really well today. I enjoy working with students on all levels. Here's one teaching strategy that can be used with beginning readers and ESL students. When students begin to recognize their letters, that's the time to start connecting the letters with sounds. When the students are ready, GO FOR IT!!

OK. I just submitted my semester plans to Walden University. Yes, it is 2:30 a.m. and I have been creating teaching material and doing graduate work all at the same time. Graduation is in my view. It will all be worth it at the end of the road. After all, it is a journey not a destination.
